COOKING AND HOUSEHOLD LESSONS FOR CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS
A special school in Hungary for autistic children and children who need learning support is struggling financially. State support is low. The teachers therefore have to bring many of the necessary things for the lesson themselves, such as furniture, learning materials and much more. This school near Kecskemét in Hungary does great work and makes an important contribution to supporting children with special needs. We are happy that we were able to support this great work at the end of 2023 thanks to the donation of urgently needed school furniture. Now we would like to help promote a great project for more independence in everyday life.

We would like to help our older students who have sufficient skills despite their disability to learn to cook and to do the work of their future households such as general cleaning and laundry. This would give them the opportunity to become more independent.
We collect kitchen and household appliances:
For our young adults with moderate intellectual disabilities, we would like to set up a more modern canteen in place of the old one. In addition to our painting, tiling and flooring work, it would also be good to have more modern household appliances such as an electric stove, crockery and cutlery for 40 more people, washing machine, dryer, dishwasher, refrigerator, kitchen utensils etc. These devices would help us in teaching the use of these every day tools to complete their household tasks in life.
We want to start by collecting large and small household and kitchen appliances that are still in very good condition and could still be used in a for a long time. Of course, it would also be great if someone could support the project financially, because then we could add appliances to the kitchen what ever is still missing and carry out urgently needed conversion and renovation work (e.g. electrical engineering).
