"Dear EEM friends
We like to give desperately needed close-up lessons to children from extreme poverty (between 7 and 14). These kids have a very hard life at home. Their parents are unable to provide them with safe shelter or feed them adequately. Most of them only get about one meal a day, which is why we also give the children something to eat. They come from families that are on the very margins of our society. As a result, they find it very difficult to keep up in class nor can they do their homework at all. They are willing to learn, but no one cares about them - and those who do care cannot provide.
We had already started an attempt two years ago. But we realized that it had to be done much better and more professionally. We would like to hire three particularly reliable young women who have experience in teaching (one of whom is a qualified social worker - university degree).
The tutors would receive a small compensation of 220 euros for the 100 hours of work per month. They are willing to do it and would even do it for free if possible, simply because they love these children so much. We know that education is the one most important key to permanently getting out of poverty and changing the society of tomorrow.
